As far as I can tell from the rules Cover and Screening are not mutually exclusive, and a model benefiting from Cover will necessarily be screened (unless gained from camouflage etc.)...

And because these status' are not mutually exclusive a target Behind cover has +3 DEF total. +2 from cover, and a further +1 for being screened.

Is the rules as intended?

When you are cover you are also screened and you can take up to +2 DEF, but no more.

Excellent, thanks. I think explicitly stating this would be good - plus there is an example that could use slightly different wording to clarify. I'll email it to you (with a few other minor bits) for you to consider.
