very interesting project! - j3w - 05-05-2019 11:49 AM
I have found Godslayer last month.
TBH I have found it few years back while searching for some replacements for my beastmen army, but was focused only to find a proper goatmen hero
After I have found it once again I have went through any materials across the Internet I could found. Digging into a history gave me some of the overview how hard was to bring the project to the current state.
Current state is from what I understand in the middle, but the current phase have currently so much variety that it is highly satisfactory product with some more fantastic stuff on the horizon!
The slow release schedule is actually not a problem and in some cases it is an advantage.
The game needs more attention from the gaming community!
ps: I was wondering if I will wait to the next year to start collecting it but hell no. I want to support this project so I am ordering some minis today

After testing the rules I think Godslayer is the best fantasy game on the market. I would encourage anyone visiting this forum to download the free rules and profile cards, proxy the models, and give the game a try.

I was playing in Warhammer - before GW in some way have unleashed their wfb players to the wargaming market
I have not tried the Kings of War (this might be the case for future), but my current focus is Godslayer: Rise of Legends and comming: Godslayer: Blood and Bronze.
Have not tested rules for Godslayer yet, I am in a middle of rule book.
To draw an attention I am saying to my friends that the technological level is similar to the level in Game of Thrones but with cultures slightly more with our historical accent.
This is the simple statement using analogy for those who are familiar with the movie (which is more popular than book series).

I also started with Warhammer but had already quit playing before Age of Sigmar. I really like that Godslayer uses action tokens and alternating activations, and players can perform actions in whatever order they want. So no phases and no long waits while the other player takes his turn. Godslayer is now my focus as well and I hope it can gain popularity in the USA.

Hi Alan, yeah that is also an advantage for me
I am still analysing game mechanic in my spare time, although based on that I could only assume that if anybody will be showing this game/system/product to friends it will start gaining popularity.
Game looks at first glance as simple and straightforward in case of tactical playing, but after reading the abilities, full core rule set + tactics + commander tactics + supports from spells it starts to look amazing how it is done.
More of that, there is also a fluff delivered, pictures, examples (also an analysis at forum) - this is a good quality product.
Based on that: show that to your friends so it will start to popularize
I am talking within my favourite small group of casual players about that system, but they are not sold yet. I need to wait until the starter box will be delivered plus some time for assembling/painting to do it effectively
When I have started talking about Godslayer I have suggested to friends that they can read the articles under following url:
(that is really great step in)
But also I have done some initial research and have collected some video materials, as in these days that kind of KT is more attractive. Here is the ordered list:
2018-05, 3 min. : quick battle overview
2018-05, 10 min. : quick game overview
2016-07, 11 min. : unboxing example
2013-02, 17 min. : quick battle intro 1/2
2013-02, 32 min. : quick battle intro 2/2
2018-05, 86 min. : battle 350 points limit
2018-05, 6*~20 min. : more various materials

I also found the game when I stopt playing warhammer. That was at the end of the 8th edition. This game was the perfect follow up. We do play warhammer 6th once in a while but more often godslayer.
The game is great, the use of tactics, a lot of freedom, the 2D6 system, ...
The fluff is amazing I read the background book 3 times.
The models are also very nice.
I hope the game gains popularity, it really deserves it.
