1)
dont charge => just move.
if they have shot earlier they can run 3" just follow up and hit them once. they will die.

2) use 2 units. first to charge and; let them spend all there AT to run,
then follow up with a second unit and kill them (once in combat they are really dead!)

3) ranged attacks

You have a lot of ways to crush them: magic and ranged attacks in primis (they die with a simple spit). If they run away in flee, with lead 6 it's difficult to pass a rally test with them. With 4 ACT they can't run so much in flee, expecially if they have made an attack (3 Act, + 1 act for their tactis). You can charge and, after their 3 inches of flee, you can move and engage them again (with 5 act and 2 act for an attack, you can kill them anyway: 2 for the charge, 1 for riengage them and 2 for attacking them). In my opinion, most of the times, this ability is more usefull to make lose act to the enem's unit that charge/engage them, instead to run away.

Hmm now i actually have to buy some of these little buggers. Apart from looking good they aparently serve decently as a way to annoy your opponent Tongue

Plus they have POW 5 Missile attacks

And if you use Whiplashing from the Packlasher plus an assigned Action token from the warlord, then they can shoot twice per turn.

So they are more than just annoying, they can be used to take down heavy infantry or elites like Sons of War while they sneakily cower at the back of the table.

They have to take a Lead 6 Test (with reroll) to get the extra token from whipping. With shooting 6 they will still miss a bit. Think its more interesting to take them with the Shadow troll warlord. So with the additional twilight salvation they have 7 ATC and can shoot twice with estimated shot. So even misses may hit something.

Obisdian nightmare is usefull for obfuscation too! With that, your oakbows are protected from ranged and magick attack!

Obfuscation counts for a single model. So you can hide 1 model with it.

You could hide them with a Lighteater using his haze effect, then in the next round activate the Lighteater and the Oakbows together, going with the Lighteater first to place the haze effect elsewhere so the Oakies can shoot freely.
